Number of new drug registration in 2001 was remarkably declined by 61% over the previous year according to the KFDA analysis, the total 1,231 items in 2001 which included 749 general non-prescription drugs, 395 ethical prescription drugs and 78 bulk drugs vs. the total 3,161 items in 2000.
