National health insurance to cover antiarrhythmic drug

The Ministry of Health and Welfare said Tuesday that Sanofi-Aventis’s antiarrhythmic drug Multaq (ronedarone) will be covered by national health insurance from May 1. The insurance coverage of Bristol-Myers Squibb/Pfizer’s Eliquis (apixaban) will be expanded, the ministry said.
