Wyeth’s pneumococcal vaccine OK’d for wider age group

Wyeth Korea said Tuesday that Prevnar 13, a pneumococcal 13-valent conjugate vaccine, was approved Friday by the Korea Food and Drug Administration for people aged 50 years or older to prevent pneumonia and invasive disease caused by the bacterium, Streptococcus pneumoniae.
