Production gap between prescription and OTC drugs widens

Korea’s output gap in the share of both ethical drugs and OTCs in domestic pharmaceutical market has been widen, since the implementation of a new system of separating drug dispensing from medical practice in 2000, calling for the government to work out measures to boost the production of OTCs.
