President Lee Myung-bak appointed on March 31 a former senior officer of Health and Welfare Ministry Lee Sang-yong, 54, as deputy commissioner of the Korea Food and Drug Administration.

Lee replaces Moon Byung-wo, who resigned due to personal reasons.
