Prices of 1,451 medicines to be reduced from next January

The government plans to lower the insurance prices of frequently prescribed 1,451 drugs (chiefly antibiotics, anti-malignant tumor drugs, anti-diabetics) by 13.3% on average from January 1, 2008 as a result of its 2007 price re-evaluation scheme, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The price re-evaluation work has been made every three years in a bid to readjust the prices...
