Plummeting drug prices pinch pharmaceutical industry

As the government plans to lower prices of 3,000 drugs by 17 percent on average as part of its efforts to improve financial soundness of the national health insurance, local industries are feeling the pinch.

Under the plan, insurance-covered prices of amolodipine maleate preparations will be falling by 30 to 40 percent, according to pharmaceutical sources.
