Prof. Oh Jeong-mi of SNU college of pharmacy found in a joint study with the U. S. NIH and U. S. FDA that a silent polymorphism without amino acid alteration could make changes in the substrate specificity, which provides a possibility for a new leap-up in the taylor-made clinical treatments in the future.
