Government to launch new food safety agency

The government is rapidly moving to launch an integrated food watchdog this year in the wake of the food poisoning crisis that gripped the country.

To that end, the Korea Food and Drug Administration will be soon disbanded and its responsibilities assigned to a new and an existing agency.
