Assembly panel to approve bill on substandard drugs recall

A National Assembly panel will pass a bill under which drug manufacturers (importers or distributors) would be obliged to voluntarily recall substandard drugs from March 2007, when they are found to be defective.

Under the proposed bill, drug makers will be under special monitoring to ensure the safety of drugs amid public concerns over harmful substances.
