The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced recently revised terms for health insurance allowance for Novartis Korea's Visudyne (verteporfin) for the treatment of predominantly classic form of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and similar but distinct condition associated with progressive near-sightedness. The drug has been marketed in Korea since December 2000.
