US FDA approves Alimtaas first-line regimen for mesothelioma

Eli Lilly and Company said recently that the US Food and Drug Administration approved Alimta (pemetrexed), a first-line therapy developed by Eli Lilly designed to treat people with pleural mesothelioma. The FDA allows Alimta to be used for ineligible-for-surgery patients with diseases like mesothelioma in concurrent therapy with cisplatin.
