Number of pharmacies up

The Health Insurance Review Agency says that as of the end of 2003 there were a total of 19,262 pharmacies, up 535 compared with 18,727 from a year earlier.

Number of pharmacies had showed steadily decreasing trends annually; 19,927 pharmacies in 1998, 19,336 pharmacies in 1999, 19,530 pharmacies in 2000 and 18,354 pharmacies in 2001, except for 18,727 pharmacies in 2002.
