Wyeth Korea to introduce new version of pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine from this November

Wyeth Korea said it would launch from this November a new version of 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (23PS), Prevnar, or heptavalent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV7) and can be given to younger children under age 23 months who are at high risk. The vaccine protects against many different types of the pneumococcus bacteria including meningitis and blood infection.
