American VA medical center recommends risperidone as first-line anti-psychotic drug

The U.S. Veterans Affairs (VA) medical center announced its own drug guideline for schizophrenia, recommending that Risperdal (risperidone) and Seroquel be used as the first-line anti-psychotic medications and Zyprexa (olanzapine) and Clozaril as the third-line drugs, in consideration of therapeutic effect and costs among antipsychotic medications.
