According to the KPMA statistics, the pharmaceutical production recorded an unprecedented negative growth figure in 1998 by 3% decreased from 8.6% growth of the previous year, almost 10% points drop, reflecting serious economic hardship after the IMF turmoil and a protracted drug market recession.
