In order to nurture the pharmaceutical industry, the Ministry of Health and Welfare(MOHW) announced plans to start a regulatory reform with the Ministry of Science and Technology(MSIT).

The government selected creation of the environment to develop new drugs and high-tech medical devices as the main task for the industry.
