Fierce competition is expected in the ‘Nexium Tab’ generic market

Approvals for the ‘esomeprazole magnesium’ drug, an antiulcer drug expired in patent last July, have been significantly increased this year.

This is because domestic pharmaceutical companies have decided to choose ‘dihydrate’ and ‘granule’ over the ‘trihydrate’ of AstraZeneca Korea’s ‘Nexium Tab’ to avoid its patent which will last until 2018.
