Requiring Bar-coding on generic drugs is promoted. Ministry of Food and Drug Safety made bar-coding compulsory on biological drug in 2012, on prescription drug in 2013, and plan to expand that to generic drugs. The contents of barcode include traceability number and expiration date so that traceability management of products is possible.
