Doctors oppose new prescription plan

The Korean Medical Association (KMA) and the government have clashed over a new prescription plan, under which doctors will be required to prescribe the actual chemical agent instead of the name of a specific drug product as they do now.

For example, they will prescribe acetaminophen, the active ingredient of Tylenol instead of Tylenol itself.
