Government, doctors at odds over thorny issues

A dispute is brewing between the government and doctors, after the Ministry of Health and Welfare will punish 8,000 doctors who allegedly took kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies in exchange for prescribing their products.

Previously, the ministry said it plans to suspend the licenses of 1,000 doctors who took more than 3 million won in kickbacks over two months.
