Generic Glivec market heating up

Various generic forms of Glivec will flood the domestic market as Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis’s patent rights to use a chemical substance essential to treat chronic myeloid leukemia expired on June 3.

According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, a total of 31 generics produced by 14 domestic pharmaceutical companies have passed bioequivalence tests and are awaiting release.
