12 Korean drugmakers at risk of losing “innovative drug firm’ status

The government selected 43 companies last June as “innovative pharmaceutical firms.” Those in the category receive various benefits, including priority to participate in state-run research and development projects, tax redemption, as well as financial support for building research labs.

However, the title may be canceled if the firm is convicted of receiving any illegal kickbacks.
