19 drugmakers suffer decline in 3-month OP rate

The major pharmaceutical firms saw their operating profit (OP) rate fall during the first quarter of the year, even before a government-mandated price cut came into effect, according to recent data from Yakup.com, a pharmaceutical information company.

The average OP rate of 19 pharmaceutical firms posted 5.9 percent during the January-March period, down 4.7 percent from a year before.
