Korea’s breast cancer prevalence highest in OECD

The nation’s prevalence of breast cancer has recently revealed a 3.5-fold increase from 1996 to 2008, showing the highest increase in OECD countries, according to the Korean Breast Cancer Society (KBCS).

According to the National Cancer Center, the number of patients diagnosed with breast cancer patients was 11,275 in 2006 and 13,859 in 2008, up 23 percent.
