Health ministry does not consider imposing tax on junk foods, alcohol

The Ministry of Health and Welfare committee said Thursday that it will not levy health promotion tax on alcohol and junk food for the time being, although the ministry committee on Wednesday discussed the new tax as a way to extend the country’s disability-adjusted healthy life expectancy to 75 years by 2020.
