National health insurance scheme covers 34 trillion won in 2010

The medical expenditures covered by Korea’s health insurance were 33.7 trillion won last year, showing a 12.9 percent increased from 2009 (29.9 trillion won), the National Health Insurance Corporation said Monday.

The government paid 32.4 trillion won to medical institutions last year, up 12.4 percent from 2009.
