Pediatric cancer treatment costs increased by 152% in 5 years

The Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service said Monday that the national health insurance spent 73 billion won treating pediatric cancers last year, a 152.1 percent rise from 29 billion won in 2006.

In 2010, 8,952 children had cancer treatment covered by their health insurance, a 14.8 percent rise from 7,798 children.
