Drug price-tapering system should be overhauled

Korea has implemented the drug price-tapering system over the use of medicines, but the measures are far from being effective, according to a lawmaker.

Rep. Won Hee-mok said that the current system should be further ameliorated to lessen the budget for national health insurance as the pricing levels determined between drugmakers and the National Health Insurance Corporation are deemed high.
