Drug makers, hospitals at odds over campaign against rebates

A dispute is brewing between pharmaceutical companies and doctors, after the government pledged to stop the practice of giving “illegal rebates'' here from October.

So far, the pharmaceutical firms have refused to give in to request for de-facto bribes.
However, a hospital association said it will boycott local medicines in retaliation for anti-rebate campaign by domestic drug makers.
