Hospitals overcharge 27.9 billion won over health insurance
The Health Insurance Review Assessment and Service (HIRAS) says the amount of refunds from hospitals last year totaled 27.9 billion won, approximately 4-fold increase compared with 7.7 billion won in 2005.
If it is found that a hospital habitually overcharges, the state agency will conduct an inspection. But the punishment seems to be insignificant given the increased number of cases.
