Pharmaceutical industry should be next growth engine

Korea needs to assess the damage that its free trade deals with other countries would cause in the local pharmaceutical industry in the future and map out proper countermeasures, including tax exemption on research and development (R&D) and Good Manufacturing Practice facilities, a head of the pharmaceutical business lobby group said on October 21.
