Sleeping pills use by Korean youths soars

The use of sleeping pills among children and very young adults rose 53.3 percent from 2006 to 2008, in yet another sign that parents and doctors are increasingly turning to prescription medications to solve childhood health and behavioral problems, according to Rep. Ahn Hong-joon of the ruling Grand National party who cited data released by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.
