37 local drugmakers spend 40% of revenue on promotion in 2008

Details of 37 Korea pharmaceutical firms’ promotional and sales expenses last year show that they spent 40.4 percent of their annual revenue on marketing and hospitality on average, according to the data.

Rep. Choi Young-hee of the opposition Democratic Party released the data on October 6 during the parliamentary audit to the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs.
