US FDA approves Korean EPO drug

Hanmi Pharm said on September 17 it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to conduct Phase I clinical trial of a new erythropoietin (EPO) for the treatment of anemia.

The company said the approval comes after successful completion of preclinical studies on LAPS-EPO (HM10760A) based on Long Acting Protein/Peptide Technology (LAPSCOVERY).
