Asbestos-containing drugs to be scrapped

The Korea Food and Drug Administration said on August 20 it will direct pharmaceutical companies, drugstores and hospitals to scrap about 1,000 drugs and medical goods that are confirmed to have used talc or talcum powders with asbestos, except for Ilyang Pharm’s Hytrine (terazosin HCl), a treatment for mild to moderate hypertension and benign prostatic hyperplasia.
