Health insurance saves 33 billion won in medical costs last year

The national health insurance saved up to 33.2 billion won in 12 medical costs last year including medication costs (e.g., cerebrovascular agents and drugs for peptic ulcers) plus cone beam CT and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, thanks to more intensive screening, according to data released by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service on July 16.
