More elderly patients suffer from depression

The number of patients aged over 70 years, who are treated for depression, has been on the gradual increase over the past four years, according to the National Health Insurance Corporation (NHIC).

In 2008, 469,522 people had their depression treatment covered by their health insurance. Among them, 78,291 people in their 70s were diagnosed as depression.
