Imports of harmful excipients to be banned

The Korea Food and Drug Administration plans to strengthen import inspections to prevent harmful excipients and additives, including talc products containing asbestos, from being brought into the country.

The measure came after the nation was alarmed by news that talc containing asbestos-like minute fibers was discovered in a variety of products, ranging from baby powder to medications.
