Oral intake of asbestos-containing water and medicine is not harmful

There is increasing speculation that the oral intake of asbestos can cause tumors, but there is there is no justification for the claims, according to Park Gui-rai, a research fellow from the Food and Drug Safety Assessment Agency.

In a recent workshop, Park said that the use of asbestos in water is unrelated to human carcinogenicity, citing the U.S. drinking water regulations.
