Government to get tough over drug barcode system

Drug makers who failed to attach or register corresponding drug barcodes will face administrative disposition from next year, according to the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA).

A HIRA official said in an information session that the government will mete out more heavy punishment against improper barcode system, such as sales or business suspension.
