Pharmaceutical production shared 1.8% of GNP.

The contribution of drug production to the GNP showed remarkably declined last year. The total production value of drugs last year dropped by 2.1% from the previous year largely due to the IMF economic turmoils, and the ratio of drug production vs. the GNP in 1998 was 1.8%, which was 0.1% point lower than the previous year.
